Haridwar Kumbh 2027 runs from Thursday 14 January to Tuesday 20 April 2027, with eleven main bathing days. Four of them are Amrit Snans, the main ceremonial days: 6 March, 8 March, 15 March and 14 April 2027.

The dates come from the official Haridwar Kumbh website and a Press Trust of India report of the Haridwar mela administration's announcement on 14 April 2026. We have not yet found a government notice that lists them, and bathing times are not out yet.

Kumbh or Ardh Kumbh?

State government releases say Haridwar Kumbh 2027. Nagar Nigam Haridwar, the city council, describes an Ardh Kumbh every six years, and the April 2026 report calls it the Ardh Kumbh Mela. You will see both names for this event. On this page we keep each source’s own wording.

Why date lists differ

Why do some lists show three Amrit Snans and others four?

The Chief Minister's list of 28 November 2025 and the mela administration's list of 14 April 2026 named three Amrit Snans: 6 March, 8 March and 14 April 2027. The official website, read in October 2026, adds Dev Doli on 15 March as a fourth. The Juna Akhara's own calendar of July 2026 names three.

Ten bathing days or eleven?

Lists published before October 2026 had ten bathing days, from Makar Sankranti on 14 January to Chaitra Purnima on 20 April 2027. The official website lists eleven, because it adds Dev Doli on Monday 15 March. Lists copied from the older reports still show ten.

Is 20 April 2027 an Amrit Snan?

The official website lists Chaitra Purnima, 20 April 2027, as a bathing day, not an Amrit Snan. One newspaper listed it as an Amrit Snan in November 2025. In 2021 Chaitra Purnima (27 April 2021) was one of the four shahi snans, which may be why some lists carry it over.

Shahi Snan or Amrit Snan: are these different days?

No. They are two names for the same ceremonial bath of the akharas. The official Haridwar website uses Amrit Snan. Older lists and some travel sites still say shahi snan.

    Tradition and the sky

    A Kumbh falls when Jupiter and the Sun reach the signs tradition links with each place. The panchang turns that into tithis and days.

    The seers and the akharas

    The akharas and the seers' council meet the administration to agree the main bathing days, above all the Amrit Snans.

    The government notice

    The state or the mela authority announces the days on its website or through the district, often months ahead and sometimes with later changes.

    The official website now has a map of 1,758 places, with proposed points such as lost-and-found and parking marked as proposed. Proposed points can change before the Kumbh.

    It adds Dev Doli on Mon 15 Mar 2027 and calls Wed 14 Apr the main (Pramukh) Amrit Snan. All dates stay provisional until a dated notice lists them.

    The site is haridwarkumbh.uk.gov.in. The song is "Kumbh Ka Parv Aa Gaya".

Wednesday 14 April 2027, Mesh Sankranti. The official website calls it the main (Pramukh) Amrit Snan.

How many Amrit Snan in Haridwar Kumbh 2027?

Four, on the official website: 6 March, 8 March, 15 March (Dev Doli) and 14 April 2027. Earlier announcements named three, without 15 March.

Are the Haridwar Kumbh 2027 dates final?

Not yet. The eleven days are on the official website, but no dated government notice lists them, so we mark them Provisional. Bathing times, akhara order and the traffic plan have not been announced.
