How long is the whole event?
The plan describes a long event of about 632 days (about 20 months). At its heart is the Mela period in the monsoon of 2027.
The reported tithis (Hindu calendar days) for the bathing days are:
- 2 August: Ashadh Somvati Amavasya
- 31 August: Shravan Amavasya
- 11 September: Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi
- 12 September: Vaman Dwadashi
What do these dates mean for your plans?

- Do use the dates to choose your week and your centre. Then wait for the detailed plan for that day before you fix routes, passes, ghat entry and transfers.
- Know that the Amrit Snan days are the main bathing days. The NTKMA plan expects about 12 crore pilgrims over the whole event.
- Do not trust a calendar from a travel seller or social media unless it matches these dates and names its source.

The readable text of the NTKMA plan backs up the bathing days and the closing dates at the top of this page. News reports that quote the district administration mention two more points. We have not yet seen them confirmed in a readable official document, so treat them as not final.

Why the Simhastha falls when it does
The Nashik–Trimbakeshwar tradition links the event to astrological conditions special to this place, and to Simha (Leo). That is why it is called Simhastha, and it shapes the religious calendar. This explains the timing. But only the event authority can announce the ceremony dates, and its calendar is the one to follow.

Why can't I use an old schedule?
District sources say the last Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Kumbh was held in 2015–16. Its bathing dates, routes, Akhara allocations, traffic plans and helplines are now old records. The same goes for Prayagraj 2025. It can show how a Kumbh authority sets out a schedule, but none of its dates or phone numbers belong on this page.

Where the bathing happens
The Simhastha has two bathing centres, about 30 km apart: Ramkund in Nashik, where the Vaishnava akharas bathe, and Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar, where the Shaiva and Udasin akharas bathe.

Why date lists differ
Is the third Amrit Snan on 11 or 12 September 2027?
Both. The Vaishnava akharas bathe at Ramkund in Nashik on Saturday 11 September, and the Shaiva and Udasin akharas at Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar on Sunday 12 September. Lists that give one date have dropped the other centre. It was the same in 2015, when the third shahi snan was on 18 September at Nashik and 25 September at Trimbakeshwar.

Are the Nashik Kumbh dates final?

Can I use the 2015 Nashik Kumbh dates?
No. Those dates and plans are old records. They do not set the 2027 calendar or the way the event will run. To report a wrong date, use Contact and Corrections, with who issued the update, its date and a direct link to it.
