Inside Haridwar Kumbh 2027: Getting Around and Facilities
The 2027 traffic, shuttle and facility plans have not been published. This page shows what the mela administration did last time, at the 2021 Kumbh: outer parking by the road you arrive on, shuttle buses, a no-vehicle stretch near Har Ki Pauri, and toilets, water, changing rooms, help desks, police posts and lost-and-found centres across 23 sectors.
The official 2027 map already shows 32 sectors and a layer of proposed points. When the 2027 plans come out, each part of this page is updated with its source.

Last time, for the April 2021 shahi snans, the mela police kept all vehicles out of Haridwar city from 8 to 15 April 2021. Cars and buses were sent to parking by the road they came on: Delhi and Meerut traffic to Daksh Dweep, Saharanpur traffic to Dhirwali, Najibabad traffic to Neeldhara and Dehradun traffic to Dudhiyabandh.

In 2021 taxis, autos, vikrams and tempos ran on fixed routes to fixed stands. Tempos from Jwalapur came only up to the parking near the Roadways workshop, and those from Kankhal to a stand inside the Rishikul bus stand. Passengers could get on and off only at the set stands. The pages we read do not mention e-rickshaws.

The 2021 report names the parkings, such as the multi-storey Pandit Deendayal parking at Dhobi Ghat in Rodi, Daksh Dweep, Neeldhara and Dudhiyabandh, but gives no walking distance to Har Ki Pauri. It counts 23 parking sites in all for 2021.

About 150 sq km, in Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri Garhwal districts. The notification of 24 March 2021 took in the area from Bahadrabad to Rishikesh, Muni Ki Reti, Swargashram, Laxman Jhula and the Neelkanth Mahadev temple.
The 2021 plan used 23 sectors, and a 24th, a railway sector at Haridwar station, was proposed. Before COVID-19 the planners had proposed 41 sectors, against 32 in 2010.

Questions people ask
Haridwar Kumbh mein ghat tak kaise pahunchein?
The 2027 traffic and shuttle plan is not out yet. Last time, in April 2021, cars and buses were stopped at parking outside the city on the big bathing days, and shuttle buses ran from the parkings and railway stations. Expect to walk the last stretch to the ghat.
Can I drive up to Har Ki Pauri during the Kumbh?
Last time you could not. In 2021 no vehicles were allowed from the Post Office tiraha to Har Ki Pauri and the Bhimgoda tiraha, even on normal days, and from 8 to 15 April 2021 vehicles were kept out of the city. The 2027 rules are not announced.
Is there an official map of Haridwar Kumbh 2027?
Yes. The Interactive Mela Map on haridwarkumbh.uk.gov.in shows 1,758 places and the 32 sectors in five zones. A separate Proposed Sector Plan layer adds planned parking, toilets, water and lost-and-found points, which can still change.
Where were the lost-and-found centres last time?
In 2021 there were eight, including ones near Sarvanand Ghat, near CCR, at Shankaracharya Chowk and at the Daksh Dweep, Neeldhara and Dhirwali parkings, plus counters at police stations. The 2027 map shows nine proposed centres.
Is there an official app for Haridwar Kumbh 2027?
Not yet. In 2021 the mela administration’s app was Kumbhdwar. On 20 October 2026 the 2027 website’s sign-up page said Coming Soon.
