Haridwar Kumbh 2027
Haridwar Kumbh 2027 Frequently Asked Questions
Haridwar Kumbh is planned for 2027, and current Uttarakhand government records show that preparations are under way. It runs from 14 January to 20 April 2027, with eleven main bathing days. Bathing times and final arrangements will come in later announcements from the authorities in charge.
The dates come from the official Haridwar Kumbh website and a Press Trust of India report of the mela administration's announcement on 14 April 2026. We have not yet found a government notice that lists them.
Is Haridwar Kumbh happening in 2027?
Yes. Uttarakhand government releases and a MyGov Uttarakhand public consultation clearly refer to Haridwar Kumbh 2027. Read the Haridwar Kumbh 2027 guide for the full picture.
When is Haridwar Kumbh 2027?
From Thursday 14 January to Tuesday 20 April 2027. The first bathing day is Makar Sankranti and the last is Chaitra Purnima. See all ten Haridwar Kumbh 2027 dates.
Which days are the Amrit Snans?
The official Haridwar Kumbh website lists four Amrit Snans: Sat, 6 Mar 2027 (Mahashivratri), Mon, 8 Mar 2027 (Phalguna Amavasya), Mon, 15 Mar 2027 (Dev Doli) and Wed, 14 Apr 2027 (Mesh Sankranti, the main one). The mela administration’s April 2026 announcement named three, without 15 March. We follow the official website. We will update this answer if a dated government order lists different days.
Is it Kumbh, Ardh Kumbh or Maha Kumbh?
State releases usually call it “Haridwar Kumbh 2027”. Nagar Nigam Haridwar, the city council, also describes a six-year Ardh Kumbh tradition. Some public messages use broader ceremonial wording. The safest way is to keep the name each source uses and explain the context. Do not treat all the terms as the same.
Is Har Ki Pauri the only Kumbh location in Haridwar?
No. Har Ki Pauri is a central Ganga ghat and a key holy landmark. But Haridwar’s pilgrimage and event area is much wider. Read the Har Ki Pauri and ghats guide.
What is Brahmakund?
Brahmakund is often described as a specially sacred part of the Har Ki Pauri area. Its religious importance does not tell you the 2027 entry route, bathing slot or access times.
How can I reach Haridwar?
You can reach Haridwar by train and by road. The district guide names Jolly Grant as the nearest airport. Check live timetables, event road changes, parking and the last transfer close to your trip. Use How to reach Haridwar Kumbh.
Where should I stay?
Choose by the area you need, how you will arrive, how far you can walk, what your group needs and how easily you can change the booking. Do not rely only on a “near Har Ki Pauri” claim. See Where to stay for Haridwar Kumbh.
Does KumbhMela.info recommend hotels or camps?
No. We explain the types of places to stay and what to think about. We do not approve any provider, show live rooms or promise that rooms are free.
Is registration required?
This page does not say that you need to register. If the government brings in a process, use only a link published by the authority in charge. Check the website address before you enter any personal details.
Are official maps available?
Government planning includes a master plan. But a planning document is not always a final public map for the event. KumbhMela.info can offer clearly labelled guide drawings. We will not copy or redraw an official traffic map in a way that could mislead you.
Can this site tell me live crowd or traffic conditions?
No. KumbhMela.info does not give live crowd levels, queue times, free parking spaces or route forecasts.
What should a first-time visitor do first?
Check the date, learn the place, plan your arrival and your stay separately, pack light and agree on a group meeting plan. Follow the first-time visitor guide.
Is KumbhMela.info an official website?
No. KumbhMela.info is an independent guide for pilgrims, in English and Hindi. When we link to a government or Kumbh authority page, that page is the official source for what it announces.
How often will these answers change?
General explanations change rarely. We review dates and arrangements more often, as the authorities publish important updates. We change the review date only after we have really checked the sources again.
