The Kumbh of 2028 is the Ujjain Simhastha, planned for Monday 27 March to Saturday 27 May 2028; no bathing date has been announced yet.
The Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Simhastha, which opens in October 2026, also ends in 2028: the Kumbh Mela Authority's plan gives its closing ceremony (Samapti) as Saturday 29 July 2028.

Ujjain Simhastha 2028: what is known
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said at a workshop in Ujjain that Simhastha 2028 will run from 27 March to 27 May 2028, as reported on 27 June 2026. By the Tirth panchang, the opening day is Chaitra Shukla Pratipada and the closing day Jyeshtha Shukla Tritiya.
A state planning meeting in March 2024 proposed three shahi snans and seven parva snans between 9 April and 8 May 2028. It did not name the days, and no government list of bathing days had been published when we checked.

No government notice lists the Ujjain bathing days yet. A list of exact shahi snan dates today is someone’s own reading of the calendar or of the 2024 proposal. Book only what you can cancel, and read how to check a Kumbh booking before you pay for a “confirmed” 2028 date.
Nashik's Simhastha closes in July 2028
The Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Simhastha opens with the flag hoisting on 31 October 2026 and has its Amrit Snans in August and September 2027. The Kumbh Mela Authority’s plan of 15 June 2026 says it concludes with the Simhastha Samapti on 29 July 2028. A 2025 report of the Chief Minister’s meeting with the akharas, and a news report of October 2026, give 24 July 2028. We show both until the authority settles the day.

Is there a Kumbh anywhere else in 2028?
- Haridwar: no. Haridwar’s Kumbh runs from 14 January to 20 April 2027. See Kumbh Mela 2027.
- Prayagraj: no Kumbh. The yearly Magh Mela is held at the Sangam, and the next Ardh Kumbh is expected in 2031.
- Nashik and Trimbakeshwar: only the closing ceremony falls in 2028. The main bathing days are in 2027.
